United Continents of Sibley: Still hanging at #8

I checked in yesterday after letting Holt know about our immigration and they confirmed we're still at #8.

Which is always a happy place to be!

The Sibley Timeline

June 7, 2003 when Ted and Erin got hitched in Perry, IA

December 2004: Ted and Erin graduate with bachelor degrees. Erin in Music Education from Northwestern College and Ted in pre-med biology from Univ of Minnesota

August 2005: Ted starts medical school at Univ of Minnesota

November 2007: start paperwork on Lucas

March 2008: dossier to Colombia
July 20, 2008: referral of baby Lucas
July 28, 2008: Gotcha Day for 3 month old Lucas
September 5, 2008: Lucas home to Minnesota

March 2009: "Match Day" for residency, we're moving to Kansas City!
May 1, 2009: Erin quits her job. Hallelujah!!
May 2, 2009: Ted graduates medical school. Hallelujah!
May 10, 2009: pack the truck for Kansas City
December 2009: apply to Holt Intl Ethiopia program

April 14, 2010: Dossier to Ethiopia
August 3rd, 2010: Referral!! 2 month old baby Ben
December 3rd, 2010: Off to Ethiopia for court. Were told "approved"... but in fact were not..

April 14th, 2011: finally court approved!
May 3rd, 2011: submitted to embassy
May 9th, 2011: cleared embassy!
May 25th, 2011: Happy Birthday Ben and on the plane for Ethiopia
June 3rd, 2011: Ben Home to Kansas City. Gotcha Day.

June 16, 2012: Ted graduates residency
July 1, 2012: Ted starts new job at Lakewood Emergency Services
November 2012: start paperwork for special needs adoption from Colombia "just in case"
November 28, 2012: Surprise!! Email received looking for a family for Sam.
November 29th, 2012: Write the letter asking for Sam

January 8th, 2013: Approved!! Keep working on paper for Sam

February 20th, 2013: Dossier leaves for MN for approval
February 28th, 2013: Dossier received at FANA for review

March 27th, 2013: REFERRAL received for Sam!

April 1, 2013: I800 to TX lockbox
April 11, 2013: I800 Provisional Approval filed

May 2, 2013: Arrived in Bogota, HAPPY GOTCHA DAY SAM!!
June 7, 2013: Sentencia! Adoption decree signed for Sam
June 28th, 2013: Welcome home to the USA Sam

August 8, 2013: Start process for Ethiopia adoption

January 10, 2014: Dossier to agency Lucky #35

March 11th, 2014: Received Trent Eskedar's referral from Waiting Child listing

June 16th, 2014: Received Pre-Adoption Immigration Review documents
June 18th: PAIR docs received at USCIS
July 16th: PAIR docs to Embassy. I604 investigation begun! Investigation complete 7/24.
July 29th: PAIR Letter received
August 6: Submitted to Ethiopian court
October 6: Ethiopian Court Re-opens and interview court date of Oct 22, 2014 assigned
October 23: Interview did not occur, on hold until MOWYCA comments received
Nov 8th: 2nd deadline assigned, MOWYCA comments still not done
Late November: negative comments submitted, requiring new Regional MOWYCA clearance from Benishangul Gumuz region
February 20, 2015: New Regional approval obtained!
April 6, 2015: Received MOWYCA approval
May 21, 2015: Adoptive Parent Court Date
June 8, 2015: Embassy interview
June 13, 2015: Trenton is home!!

June 2016: Move to Minnesota

August 2016: Applied for MN Homestudy
September 2016: Submitted letter of intent for Drew
September 15, 2016: Began Safe Families MN

February 2017: Homestudy and Dossier to Fana
March 10, 2017: I800a approval
March 30, 2017: Drew's referral
April 20, 2017: I800 provisional approval

May 7, 2017: Bound for Bogota!
May 19, 2017: Sentencia
June 3, 2017: Bound for home!
